Beethoven said: “Symphonies are the best representation of my true self. I always seem to hear within me the sounds of a great orchestra”. Let us discover how these “sounds of a great orchestra” materialize in three great works of the symphonic repertory. Immensely rich in emotional content, Symphony no. 5 transmutes the inevitable blows of fate into hope. Beethoven’s love for nature finds its way into his Sixth symphony that established him as a true Romantic. With its exhilarating dance spirit, the Seventh symphony feels like the most spontaneous of the three.
