The Cyprus Symphony Orchestra Foundation &
The Terra Sancta Organ Festival present the
CYPRUS CHURCH ORGAN FESTIVAL
The Cyprus Church Organ Festival introduces to the Cypriot audience the repertoire for organ and for organ and orchestra.
The organ as a virtuoso instrument is not that very well-known among Cypriot audiences, given that the specific instrument, with its roots in western European ecclesiastical music, is largely absent from the eastern Orthodox Church’s liturgies. What better opportunity then to enjoy the rich sound of the organ than through a concert by the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra featuring as soloist the Italian Catholic cathedral organist Eugenio Maria Fagiani who, in early 2017, became the first Western musician to perform in Syria since the start of that country’s civil war six years earlier.
