Soprano Katerina Andreou was born in Lefkosia – Cyprus in 1985 and started music lessons at the age of 14. In 2004, she continued her music studies at the State Music Academy of Bulgaria Pantcho Vladigerof in Sofia where she studied classical singing as opera soloist, under the supervision of the world renowned soprano Blagovesta Karnobatlova Dobreva. In 2008 she graduated with distinction. A year later, she obtained her Master’s Degree with distinction, focusing on the bel canto composers. Together with her studies in classical singing, she has appeared in concerts with traditional Cypriot and Greek music as well as jazz and Greek popular art song.

Born in Varna – Bulgaria mezzo soprano Tsveta Christoforou won a scholarship to study at the P. Vladigerov conservatory in Sofia where she graduated with honours as a Solo Artist. Tsveta Christoforou has performed in Austria, Macedonia, Greece, Israel, Egypt, Bulgaria and Cyprus. Notably she has appeared as Dorabella in Cosi fan Tutte, Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro, as Zerlina in Don Giovanni and also in Carmen, II barbiere di Siviglia and other operas. In January 2006, Tsveta appeared as Hansel in the opera Hänsel und Gretel by Humperdinck a production of the Cyprus Opera Society in collaboration with the then Cyprus State Orchestra and the 21st century orchestra of Moscow. In 2008 she founded the Cyprus Opera Organization and in the same year she appeared as Dido and Sorceress in Purcell’s opera Dido and Aeneas. In 2010 she will appear in opera productions of Mozart’s La Finta Giardiniera and Le Nozze di Figaro.

Tenor Can Tufan was born in 1964 in Lemesos – Cyprus and attended school in Kyrenia. In 1983 he moved to Bremen in Germany, where he continued his studies in Music and German. While studying singing at the School of Arts in Bremen, he collaborated with the Opera Studio of the CyYSO Academy of Hamburg for several opera productions and concerts. Together with his studies in classical music, he took part in different projects for modern music as well as musicals. Since 1994 he has been a member of the choir of the Opera of Bremen at Bremer Theatre, in the section of 2ndTenors. At the same time, he regularly appears as a soloist in sacred music concerts and in festivals such as the “Musikfest Bremen” and “Steinfurter Musik Festival” and as a member of the “Capella Colandi”, Bremen”. Can Tufan appears in a wide range of music performances. His appearances include collaborations in opera productions and music evening concerts with an extensive repertory.

Baritone Andreas Aroditis is in his first year of graduate studies at The Juilliard School, New York where he also obtained the Bachelor of Music degree. He is a student of Dr. Robert C. White and has been awarded the George and Marie Vergottis Scholarship. He has also participated in summer programmes such as the “Bel Canto” in Italy and recently the International Vocal Arts Institute in Caguas, Puerto Rico. Andreas Aroditis has appeared with the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra, the Cyprus Opera Organization, and the Bay Area Summer Opera Theater Institute.  In April 2009, the Oratorio Society of New York selected Andreas as one of the finalists of the Lyndon Woodside Oratorio Competition, which was held at Carnegie Hall. As a participant in the recent International Vocal Arts Institute in Tel Aviv, Israel, he performed Guglielmo in Mozart’s Così fan tutte.  Last season, he took part in IVAI’s Gala Concert as a soloist with the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra, conducted by maestro Paul Nadler.

Conductor Spiros Pisinos held the position of chief conductor and artistic director of the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra between 2005 and 2008. He has conducted orchestras including the Philharmonia Orchestra of London, Milan’s Pomeriggi Musicali, Genoa’s Carlo Felice opera orchestra, the Sinfonia Finlandia, the Athens and Thessaloniki State Orchestras and the West Australia Symphony.  He has toured with the Orchestre National de Montpellier which he has also conducted from the piano as soloist, the Nuremberg Symphony and the Mariinsky Young Philharmonic Orchestra following an invitation by Valery Gergiev. In order to celebrate the “Day of Europe” on 9 May 2009, Spiros Pisinos conceived and conducted the first performance of Beethoven’s IX symphony by the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra, along with extra leading musicians from all neighbouring countries surrounding Cyprus (mostly from Daniel Barenboim’s West-Eastern Divan Orchestra) and the Czech Philharmonic Choir – Brno. On his initiative and under his artistic direction, Spiros Pisinos founded and conducted the Ensemble Philharmonia composed by professional Greek Cypriot, Turkish Cypriot and other accomplished musicians from European Union member states. Since 2004, the Ensemble Philharmonia has performed in Cyprus and Paris with great success.  In the operatic realm, Spiros Pisinos has conducted at Dusseldorf’s Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Bremen, Cottbus and Mannheim Operas working on a particularly wide repertoire. In 1999 and 2000 he assisted Antonio Pappano (Music Director of Royal Opera Covent Garden) in major operatic productions, and subsequently Kurt Masur at the New York Philharmonic and Orchestre National de France. Spiros Pisinos is a recipient of the French government’s Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres.
