From Renaissance to 20th Century
The CySO brass ensemble will take you on an exciting musical tour from the late renaissance to today. The programme comprises four popular polyphonic works and a dance by renowned composers of the renaissance, a prelude and fugue by J. S. Bach and three contemporary works: Cypriot composer Tasos Stylianou’s intriguing piece for brass and sea-shells, the entertaining Divertimento (1951) by British composer John Addison, famous for his film music, and a suite of much-loved tunes from Bernstein’s score for West Side Story (1957).
