In the ‘Cyprophonia 2’ concerts series, the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra is delighted to welcome the amazing maestro Ruben Gazarian to the podium to present a programme that combines Cypriot talent and classical brilliance!
The orchestra will perform the world premiere of a fascinating new work by Cypriot composer Georgios Stavrou, commissioned by the CySO Foundation. The piece, titled Erum for orchestra, is described as ‘an internal attempt to Tuning, in order to move to that dimension’. The concert also features Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G major, to be performed by the rising young Cypriot pianist Christos Fountos. This demanding concerto is a blend of exuberance and sophistication, displaying the composer’s genius in crafting melodies. The programme will conclude with a timeless masterpiece, Beethoven’s ‘Pastoral’ Symphony, a musical journey through the evocation of lush countryside.
